Cassava (Manihot esculenta)

Cassava is a woody shrub native to South America. It is grown for its starchy tuberous roots, which are used in cooking and to produce tapioca.

Prefers well-drained, sandy soil and full sun. Requires regular watering but tolerates dry periods. Harvest roots 8-18 months after planting, depending on variety.
